Between 2009-2012 Messi sealed his name as the best player ever to MAJORITY of the football pundits. And in 2014-2015 he cemented concreted his legacy as the greatest ever. But there always have been arguments from anti-Messi camps that Messi is this good because the defenders are now weak and don't play rough.
